At Health and Wellbeing Wulguru, we operate as a mixed-billing clinic, meaning that while we continue to bulk bill most of our patients, some consultations may incur an out-of-pocket fee. Our goal is to ensure accessible, high-quality healthcare while maintaining a sustainable practice.
Bulk Billing Eligibility
We bulk bill all standard and long consultations(both face-to-face and telehealth) for the following patients and appointment types:
✅ Children under 16 years
✅ Centrelink Concession Card holders
✅ Pension Card holders
✅ Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) cardholders
✅ Preventative vaccines (Flu, COVID-19, Childhood immunisations, etc., where no other matters are discussed)
✅ Flu immunisations (where no other matters are discussed)
✅ Accepted WorkCover patients (unless special provisions apply)
✅ Care Plan appointments (Mental Health Care Plans & Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plans)
✅ Health Assessment appointments
If you do not meet the above bulk-billing criteria, it is at your doctor’s discretion to bulk bill your consultation on a case-by-case basis. Please speak with your doctor if you have any concerns regarding billing.
Medicare Claims and Payments
If you have registered your bank details with Medicare, we can process your claim electronically for an immediate rebate. Our HiCaps system allows for instant processing, ensuring your Medicare rebate is credited directly to your account.
For telehealth consultations, patients will need to claim the rebate manually with Medicare. Please ask our friendly staff for guidance on this process.
Private Billing and Payment Policy
For private patients (those who do not meet the bulk billing criteria), payment is required at the time of consultation.
💰 Consultation Fees for Private Patients:
🆕 New Patient Policy
If you have not visited our clinic in more than 12 months, you will be considered a new patient and will be required to book a long consultation ($125.00).
⏳ Extended Appointments
If you have complex medical issues or require additional time, we recommend booking a double appointment to ensure you receive thorough care.
