Dr Prakash Pattnaik

Graduated in 2000 from India, he completed his specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Mumbai. He later worked as lecturer in obstetrics & Gynaecology, with keen interest in gynaecological ultrasound and laparoscopic surgery. He has presented in multiple national and state conferences in India, prior to his moving to Australia in 2008.
He completed Masters of clinical Embryology ( M.C.E ) from Monash University 2009.There after completing his AMC exams, he has worked as registrar in various obstetrics and Gynaecology departments from Darwin ,Townsville and Bendigo ( as Advanced RANZCOG trainee ).He also Completed his MRMED ( Masters of Reproductive Medicine, from UNSW Sydney) in 2015. He shifted to commence RACGP training in 2018, which he has completed training now. During his Gp training he was also working as a GP Obstetrician at the Ingham Hospital (Qld Health). He is Fellow in Advanced Rural General Practice ( FARGP ). He has the skills and training for level 2 Mental Health service and offers motivational interviewing, CBT, relaxation and anxiety management skills to his clients.
He lives in Townsville with wife (also a General Practitioner), their two adorable boys and pet cockateil. He has a keen interest in Skin Cancer Medicine and has completed Professional Diploma in Skin Cancer Surgery (currently a member of SCCA - Skin Cancer College Australasia). He is now working towards his advanced certificate of skin cancer Surgery (SCCA). He performs skin checks, Skin Grafts and Flaps for Skin Cancer treatment. He takes a keen interest in women’s health including Implanon, Mirena and Copper IUD insertion, Infertility, menopause and endometriosis. He will soon complete his diploma in Aesthetic Medicine, which will enable him to offer fillers, botox, PDT, dermabrasion and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma therapy), etc. He plans to offer to his male patients advanced no scalpel vasectomy ( NSV) services in the near future.
Health and Well Being Wulguru has trialed mix billing for a period of two months. It has been decided that from Thursday 27/08/2020, we will revert back to Bulk Billing our consultations.
What this means is everyone, including non concession card holders will no longer have an out of pocket expense for a general consultation with our GPs.
Please note that there are still private fees involved with things such as excisions, iron infusion, medical clearance, Dangerous goods and other forms that require a doctor to fill out.
Any outstanding fees charged during the mix billing period will need to be paid.

We are now taking bookings for the Pfizer & AstraZeneca vaccines. You will need to book an appointment with your doctor prior to receiving the vaccine.
This allows your doctor to spend time going through your medical history to assess your suitability for the vaccine and answer any questions you may have.

The majority of our patients understand and provide respect to our staff and doctors, however we do have to ensure that all patients are aware of our Zero Tolerance Policy in regards to abusive or aggressive behaviour to staff.
There has been a number of incidents where staff have been spoken to in an aggressive and abusive manner. Please do note that the team at Health and Wellbeing Wulguru try their best to accommodate every patients needs and will always provide mutual respect to our patients.
