Health and Wellbeing Wulguru has been caring for the Townsville community since 2005. We are a fully bulk-billing, AGPAL-accredited general practice — bringing together experienced GPs, pathology, and allied health under one roof.
Our story
Health and Wellbeing Wulguru was founded by Dr Jay Pawar with a simple belief: that everyone in our community deserves access to high-quality, compassionate healthcare — regardless of their financial situation. What began as a single GP practice has grown into a full-service medical centre serving thousands of patients across Townsville and North Queensland.
Located at 346–348 Stuart Drive in Wulguru, we are conveniently accessible from Kirwan, Thuringowa, Oonoonba, Gulliver, Hermit Park, and surrounding suburbs. Our purpose-built clinic brings together GPs, QML Pathology, physiotherapy, psychology, and dietitian services — all under one roof.
We remain committed to the values that have guided us from the beginning: listening carefully, treating the whole person, and building long-term relationships with our patients and their families.
What we stand for
Accessible care for all
We operate as a fully bulk-billing clinic because we believe cost should never be a barrier to seeing a doctor. All eligible Medicare patients can access our GP services at no out-of-pocket cost.
Patient-centred medicine
We treat the whole person, not just the symptoms. Our GPs take the time to listen, understand your circumstances, and work with you to develop a care plan that fits your life.
Continuity of care
We encourage patients to build a relationship with a regular GP. Knowing your history, your family, and your goals allows us to provide better, more personalised care over time.

AGPAL accredited
Health and Wellbeing Wulguru is accredited by AGPAL (Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited) — the leading independent accreditation body for general practice in Australia. AGPAL accreditation means our clinic meets the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for General Practices, covering clinical care, patient safety, infection control, and practice management. It is independently assessed and renewed regularly.
Our team
Seven experienced GPs, supported by a dedicated nursing team, reception staff, and on-site allied health professionals.
